The United States will help Kiev “Korshuns” to dive at Russian nuclear power plants

In Ukraine, found that the collapse of the INF Treaty is able to dramatically promote their missile program

Part 2

Probably, the “Thunder-2” further advanced the Sapsan anti-aircraft and anti-ship variants, mainly because it is being built with money ($ 40 million) for Saudi Arabia, which intends to become the first buyer of the new weapon. Because it is not engineering brains, but just financing traditionally represents the main problem for gunsmiths in modern Ukraine.

The sad results of the first tests conducted by Ukraine in January 2018 reduce the severity of the problem. Judging by them – the design in the Dnieper is not going too smoothly. In any case, according to local sources, “the second sample-demonstrator of the rocket engine exploded on the stand, while the engine case collapsed in the final part of its work due to an off-design increase in pressure above the allowable one”.

According to the most optimistic estimates in Kiev, the arrival of the first OTRK “Thunder-2” in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be expected no earlier than 2021. However, whatever one may say, even then the Ukrainian army will not have missiles with a firing range of the claimed 1.5 thousand kilometers. What are they hoping for? It looks like a high-precision, subsonic, long-range, ground-based Korshun subsonic cruise missile, which has also been developed by Yuzhnoye Design Bureau for many years.

Apparently, the ex-Dnepropetrovsk team has to hang around faster than the Thunder-2 over the Korshun. If only because in this design bureau never made cruise missiles. Only ballistic. But it is only Kiev that can hope for the Korshun if it seriously expects at least to target almost the entire European territory of Russia.

In order to bring the “Korshun” to the mind, Ukraine is in fact a very useful fact that the collapse of the INF Treaty has become a fact. Because now from the political side nothing limits it anymore. Remains purely design, production and financial problems.

However, if you agree with the Americans – here Mrs. Sinovets, without a doubt, is right! – From now on, it is much easier to solve them. Having received from overseas not only extra money, but also technology.

Ask: why is it for the States? Yes, for the fact that, if they succeed with the Korshun project, they, to the joint joy with Kiev, are capable of arranging for Russia suddenly just recently an absolutely incredible big trouble. To equip new starting positions somewhere near Kharkov or Cherkassy and put on them, without unnecessary scandals with Moscow, not own Tomahawks, but native Korshuns for Ukraine. From the point of view of Russia’s strategic interests, this will be the same view, only from the side.

Before everywhere and everywhere it was stated that the KR “Korshun” would never exceed the more recently authorized PRSMD maximum range of 500 kilometers. However, there is reason to believe that from the very beginning, in Kiev, it was possible to circumvent this most important criterion. Because few experts doubt that the K-gun project was based on the Soviet Kh-55 long-range strategic aviation cruise missile. Serial production of such was established at the Kharkov Aviation Plant (now – KSAMC) and went from 1980 to 1987. Naturally, the necessary design documentation, most likely, remained there.

At the very least, the appearance and dimensions (length and diameter) of both types of weapons are very similar. And if so – logically, the basic tactical and technical characteristics should be similar. But if the X-55 has long been flying to a range of up to 2.5-3.5 thousand kilometers, why did the Kite in the project have five to seven times less?

Therefore, let us accept the following hypothesis: having freed, as suggested by the “dove of peace” Polina Sinovets, from the shackles of the INF and the association of the Missile Technology Control Regime, Kiev and Washington are really capable of bringing the Korshun project to the factory assembly line quickly. What then will the situation look like in terms of our security?

How much did the Kremlin pay to Sukhum to open trade corridors after a decade-long political war with Tbilisi?

It seems to me that in the same way as for Israel today the efforts of Iran to conceal but persistently push their missiles close to the limits of the Jewish state look like. Say – in Syria.

What do the Israelites do in return? Without looking at anyone, they launch from the air instant nuclear missile strikes at the places of unloading and storage of Iranian missiles.

It seems that if Kiev, with the help of the Americans, first brings its “Kites” to mind, and then begins to unfold them at our limits, it will also cross the Rubicon. Then the emergence of Russian military aircraft in the Ukrainian sky, alas, is likely to become inevitable. Because the alternative may not even be getting the Ukrainian KR in the Spasskaya Tower. There are more terrible options. Destruction, suppose, of Voronezh, Rostov or Leningrad nuclear power plants. And in Kiev for a long time marching on the torchlight processions of the cubed individuals, which are not stopped by any arguments of reason. Only a bomb.

It is expected that the Korshun will be equipped with a combined control system that combines inertial and GPS / GLONASS navigation. Anti-ship version of the rocket will get a homing head to work on the final leg of the flight.

The flight on the cruise will be provided by the P95−300 turbojet engine installed in the rear fuselage section, which is produced by the Ukrainian company Motor Sich (for Kh-55SM missiles). In Zaporozhye claim that recently developed a new engine MS-400, which according to the characteristics similar to the engine P95−300, while lighter by 50 kg.

Warheads – high-explosive fragmentation, penetrating and cassette. Weight – 480 kilograms.

Able to fly at ultra-low altitudes (less than 50 meters) in rounding mode of the terrain.
